Standard IV
Promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility
Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices.
Reflection:
Through my graduate courses, I have learned the importance of ethical behavior in the teaching profession. It is very important that I model this behavior for my students and also provide them with equitable access to material. From taking IT 645, I now have a better grasp of how to accommodate for students’ diverse needs using technology. The Google Forms Technology Survey I created allows me to get a glimpse into the lives of my students’ technological use, so I may decide how best to integrate technology into my lessons. Additionally, another tool utilized that allowed collaboration was Google Drive. By creating slides via Google Presentation & documents via Google Doc, students can collaborate across cultural barriers.
Future Learning Goal: I wish to learn more about using survey tools to ensure that I am providing equitable access for learning in the classroom. By researching parent survey methods in the classroom in professional journals and teacher blogs, I hope to learn how to best accomplish this task.
