Model digital age work and learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society.
Reflection:
By modeling digital age work and learning, we can teach our students how to utilize technology though demonstration. From IT 645, my fluency in technology and ability to apply it to the classroom has definitely increased. The tool that increased my knowledge the most was probably the classroom website. From this, (see Ms. Gibson’s Class Website), I was able to create a way to communicate and collaborate with parents and students about current activities in the classroom. I had never created a classroom website before, so my knowledge base regarding this has greatly increased. By having a classroom website with a professional design, I can show my students how to integrate technology into everyday life. Additionally, Google Presentation &Google Doc allowed me to communicate and collaborate with students to promote active learning and support student success. Group members were able to add pictures as they saw fit to these sites. Also, the Scoop.it- Researching in 7th Grade assignment also allowed me to model the effective use of digital tools to use information resources to allow for learning for my future students. Through the creation of a video story to lecture, I was also able to model how to integrate technology into learning for my students via YouTube Movie Story.
Future Learning Goal: In the future, I hope to learn more about Window’s Movie Maker. I still have a lot to learn about the program, and I wish to become more skilled in creating Movie Stories to use, so I can best model technological literacy for my students.
